Alera Side Table

The well – proportioned design of our Alera side table blends sustainable mango wood and leather. The rich tones of the leather complement the calming natural grains of the wood and stylishly form a space for magazines and literature. The solid framework is crafted from iron.

This leather item is handmade from goat leather, a by-product. The herds are farmed by local herdsmen. The leather is dyed using vegetable extract and tree bark, this means the leather colour will enrich further with time. Our mango wood pieces are created from sustainable mango wood. The Mango trees are initially grown for their fruit, harvested over a number of years. Once the trees have stopped bearing fruit, they can be cut down and used to make our wooden pieces. This allows farmers to plant more trees and provides them with a supplementary income.

To care for your leather wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth. To protect the finish, avoid use of chemicals and household cleaners. To nourish and protect the natural wood, rub an edible oil such as olive oil or walnut oil into the surface with a cloth. Please note adding oil may darken the tone of the wood. Due to the natural beauty of these items there may be changes to the colour over time. To care for this product, we recommend using coasters for drinks, the finish may mark when put in contact with hot drinks or liquid. Blot any spillage immediately with a dry cloth, do not use chemical cleaners.
